Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

1. The service

Vidcap ("the Service") converts audio and video files you upload into text transcripts, using automated speech-recognition technology. The Service is provided by [YOUR NAME / BUSINESS NAME], based in Morocco.

2. Accounts and credits

You need an account to use the Service. The Service is billed in credits, where one credit is one second of audio or video processed. Transcribing a file costs one credit per second of its actual duration; rendering a captioned video costs a flat 120 credits regardless of its length. Credits are purchased in advance, do not expire, and are non-transferable between accounts. They are deducted before the work begins, and returned in full if that work does not complete.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the files you upload. You confirm you have the right to upload and process the content you submit, and that doing so does not violate any third party's rights or applicable law, including any consent required from people whose voices are recorded. Do not upload content you do not have the right to transcribe.

4. Accuracy disclaimer

Transcripts are generated automatically and may contain errors, especially with background noise, overlapping speech, dialectal or accented speech, or poor audio quality. The Service is provided "as is" without any guarantee of transcription accuracy. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting transcripts before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, journalistic, or other sensitive uses.

5. Refunds

Credit purchases are generally non-refundable once used. If a transcription job fails due to an error on our end and no usable transcript is produced, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will restore the credits used for that job.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to process content that is illegal, infringes on others' rights, or that you do not have authorization to record or transcribe (for example, recordings made without required consent under applicable wiretapping or privacy laws in your jurisdiction).

7. Data retention

See our Privacy Policy for how long uploaded files and transcripts are stored and how to request deletion.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [YOUR NAME / BUSINESS NAME] is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages resulting from transcription errors or service downtime.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

This is a starting template, not legal advice - have it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with Moroccan and/or your customers' local law before relying on it for a real launch, particularly given that audio uploads can contain personal voice data.
